13 Oct Where We Are In The Pandemic Journey
We have good news and bad news. The good news is that, across the nation, except for a few states, the number of COVID infections, cases and hospitalizations are going down. The death count is 718,000 and 1,500 people died every day last week. That’s down from 2,000 a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, 16.3% or 6 million of the cases are now in children. In the past two weeks, more than 320,000 were infected. The federal vaccine advisory committees will be meeting in about two weeks and hopefully, the data will demonstrate that vaccines are safe and effective for children 5-11. Remember, only 77% of the eligible population is vaccinated with one dose and 56.5% are fully vaccinated. We hope you are not one of the unvaccinated. Please help us to make Black life matter. Protect your community: get vaccinated!
